Carrillo-Rolfe Family Ancestors

Last Updated: May 12, 2009

Welcome to the Carrillo-Rolfe Family Ancestors Page! Here you will find the different Family Trees that our Small but Beautiful Family! belongs to, as well as links to some of our Family Pictures! Our family has roots in Puerto Rico (mainly Vieques, Culebra, Lares and Adjuntas), Spain (Barcelona and Andalucía), Canada (Québec and Ontario) and the United States.

I dedicate this page to our children Joseph Edward (José Eduardo in Spanish, a.k.a. JJ) and Kayla Zoe who were our inspiration to create these Family Trees to give them the information about their ancestors to keep and update for the generations to come. To my wife Leah for having the patience to cope with me during the long hours I spent researching and consolidating the information in these trees, and just because I love you Preciosa! And finally to our Ancestors because thanks to you we are the people who we are today. We love you all!

The Carrillo-Rolfe Family Forest (or Yunque!) has over 1150 individuals!!!

Our Ancestor's lastnames currently include: Carrillo, Rolfe, Muñiz, Bellam, González, Ramos, Langlois, Betts, Romero, Avila, Barris, Valentin, Martel, Tardiff, Sundry, Reed, Davila, Colon, Aloyo, Geraldo, Estremera, Fornel, Morales, Blair, Benaves, Cardona, Cintron, Rivera, Bermúdez, Méndez, Mitchell, Williams, Carrasquillo, Fordani and Bradly.

Please note the convention on lastnames that I'm using in the family trees. Last names for Spanish individuals very often include the Father's lastname followed by (when known) their Mother's lastname. I use a dash ("-") to separate the two lastnames, i.e. Carrillo-Muñiz. For non-Spanish individuals, who normally use only their Father's last name, I include (when known) their Mother's lastname inside of parenthesis "( )" for clarification purposes, i.e. Carrillo(Rolfe). It makes it a lot easier to navigate through the trees when you know both parents' lastnames for any particular individual.

On a historical note, the Spanish custom of using the Father's lastname followed by their Mother's lastname to identify individuals became Official Law in Spain and it's territories on January 1st, 1871 after the Civil Registry Law went into effect under the rule of King Amadeo I (Amadeo de Saboya) of Spain.

To make it easier to navigate through the Family Forest/Yunque I have split it into several smaller Family Trees. These smaller trees are grouped by relatives and ancestors of the following branches of the main Family Forest: Carrillo-González, Muñiz-Ramos, Rolfe-Langlois and Bellam-Betts.

Here is the Ahnentafel chart for our children Joseph Edward and Kayla Zoe.

You can also see our Family Forest (Yunque!!!) at our Tribal Pages website.

If you belong to any of these family trees, please don't hesitate to send me an email. I would love to hear from you with any new information that will expand our and your Family Tree!
